Return to Stockholm Open

13.02.2008 | Tennis

Roger announced today that he will play in October's Stockholm Open for the first time in eight years. Our five-time Wimbledon champion last played in the Swedish capital tournament in 2000, losing to Andreas Vinciguerra in the second round.

Roger commented: "I am very happy to be returning to Sweden. There is an obvious connection through my former coach Peter Lundgren as well as tennis-legend Björn Borg. It has been many years since I was there the last time but I really hope to do well this year and hopefully get my first title in Stockholm!"

Wow! Another tournament added to this year's schedule... did anyone say Roger was getting tired of playing tennis??!!

I think this is great - giving the opportunity to a huge number of fans in Scandinavia to see you play Roger. Good for you. Anothe

That's Great!
No doubt it would provide you an avenue to warm up for the Masters Series in Spain, after the long post USOpen rest. I just hope you can cope with 4 tournaments in the month of October.

Whatever happens, I wish you the best of luck.

Dieing to see you in action on the court. This long wait is awful. You have spoiled us with the sheer beauty and elegance of your play.
