Roger defeated in 5 sets

10.09.2011 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger had to end his quest for another US Open title with a 7-6(9), 6-4, 3-6, 2-6, 5-7 defeat against Novak Djokovic in the semi-final today.

Roger had a tough day as it is only the second time in a total of 184 matches that he has been beaten after leading by two sets. The loss means he will finish a season without a grand slam title for the first time since 2002.

Everything looked perfect in the beginning as Roger booked the first two sets and was playing really well. It was in the two following two sets that Djokovic raised his level of play while Roger did not quite keep up. Roger got everything back together in the final set, taking it to 40-15 on his serve at 5-3. But an incredibly hard forehand from the Serb and one of Roger's balls just barely touching the net and sailing into the out kept him from clinching the victory. Djokovic went sailing through and secured the win after over four hours of play.

2-And the last match was a great one, when the match points came my heart almost came out of my chest I can only imagine how you felt, how hard it is sometimes to put everything in balance and conquer something so difficult in one second, but don't worry you'll benefit for this experience and remember that the base of long term success is patience so be patient and keep fighting, the World is yours to take.

3-And just one note talking about the match points I think your opponent didn't behave properly far from that he displayed an absolute lack of respect and ungentlemanly conduct, that wasn't fair game and the umpire absolutely fail on his pathetic and useless performance he didn't warned him not once for all the time he took every time when he served and for his lack of respect to your service game.

4-When he ask in such manner for the crowd support on YOUR service game and specially on a match point was the ultimate display of unprofessionalism he will pay for this one day and he gain my total disappointment on him, he shouldn't done that period, that was wrong, how about someone doing that to him, he wouldn't like that for sure. It upset me deeply.

5-You said as the great diplomat you are that you didn't see it, but I tell you it certainly didn't help, he should have respected YOUR service game, he was more upset that we preferred you and were supporting you and not him than anything else. I think it is not worthy to win like that. And when you are not in the final it feels like nothing at all. All the excitement is gone it is just like whatever else.

7- To ameliorate pain, feel it. What you resist will persist.
In order to be free observe yourself without judging yourself.
Let go and flow.
The innermost essence of your being is beyond the ego. It is fearless, free, does not fear any challenge and it is beneath no one.

Roger, any loss of Rafa will cause more damage to his mentality and it'll boost u'r confidence at the same time. You can be in a better position facing him just in 10 months from now. be cool and wise at events. Rafa will quit Tennis before you. needs just a deep crack inside.
