Masters title number 6!

27.11.2011 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger secured a sixth title at the ATP World Tour Finals thanks to a 6-3, 6-7(6), 6-3 victory in a spectacular match against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga !

"I couldn't be more happy, I couldn't be more exhausted," Roger said. "I can't be happier with the way the season has finished."

Roger had to overcome a threat from Tsonga in the middle of the match as his opponent broke our champ as he served for the match at a set and 5-4 up. And also later, as Roger was about to wrap up the tie-break, the Frenchman saved a match point before leveling at one set all.

But as in the first set, Roger broke Tsonga again in the eighth game of the decider and made no mistake when he served for the championship for the second time.

With Roger's triumph in his 100th final today he is now also the alone record holder for titles at the ATP World Tour Finals, leaving Ivan Lendl and Pete Sampras behing him. The title today is his 70th career title!

Roger is now off to a well deserved holiday before taking up his training in Dubai.

There are times when you are kept low by the tide against you, but the more u push the more you come outta it, and you are surely coming out and i m desperately waiting that you may win rest of the grand slams, even if not, i will still love you, no one can play is as stylish as you are.

Cheers!

Nice prospect, Roger won the last 3000 points he could possibly win. That's a good third of the points he needs to be no1. And more than points, that mean as of right now, he dominates the point. However never forget that 3 sets tournaments are not Grand Slams (5 sets, 7 matches). I'm still worried that endurance will be his worst ennemy, once again. We still don't know if he can win 5 sets matchs against the very best. I hope he is going to be working a lot, probably his last chance.

Are you still in 'afterglow' ? You played some brilliant tennis @ the O2, felt fortunate to see you play @ the semis & finals. I have to apologise not waving to you during the interview with Mark Pesce. You have so many fans. I would like to think that you 'waved' at me only, but alas...

Stay healthy and enjoy London (if you are still there).

Must see & do in London: Leonardo Da Vinci exhibit @ The National Gallery, dinner @ Hix Restaurant (one in Selfridges).

With you...always
