Out against Djokovic

08.06.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger suffered a 4-6, 5-7, 3-6 loss against Novak Djokovic in the semi-final of the French Open today.

"I was actually feeling particularly well in the second set, and that one hurts the most to lose," Roger said. "In the third, I don't know, I just wasn't able to put a good game together anymore. You're down two sets to nothing against Novak and it's not the same match anymore. He goes for broke and has no fear and that's about it."

Roger had a good start by breaking Djokovic early in the first set but receiving the re-break in return. Djokovic secured the first set with yet another break. In the second, Roger broke Djokovic again for a 3-0 lead but the world no. 1 took 13 of the next 18 games, constantly putting Roger under pressure. In the third set, Djokovic piled up four breaks to eventually seal his victory after 2:05 hours.

OK Boting: well there you go Yukimi, you have the answer. (And I still think it's mad). No matter, we shall all enjoy watching our man gliding round the cool green Centre Court - always a joy.

Dear Roger,
Sorry the match against Novak didn’t go as you had hoped. It was especially tough to see you lose that 2nd set. The match would have gone much differently otherwise.

Hope you enjoy the Halle event. May it be a relaxing, wonderful week playing on grass & loving it! As you said “it would be great, if I could win the grass court Slam - the competitions in Halle, Wimbledon and the Olympic tournament.” I’M ALL FOR THAT! GO GET ‘EM, ROG!

Cheering for you all the way!

The seedings in Wimbledon depends on the performances of a player from the past two years.

WHY WOULD WORRY ABOUT NADAL'S 11 GS THE ONLY THING HE ACHIEVED
BROKEN BORG'S 6 TITLES IN PARIS AND EQUALISING THE 11 GS OF BORG
LET'S PUT THINGS STRAIGHT : NADAL WILL NEVER GET SOFAR !!
NOW FED HAS TO PROVE HE IS REALY THE G.O.A.T BY WINNING THE 7TH
WIMBLEDON TITTLE AND GETTING HIS 17TH GS.

*Yukimi* Just to say that Wimbledon is different from other GS in that the seedings do not always follow the ATP rankings (don't ask me why, it's a bit mad). And I think they decide seedings well before the draw. So it could have been that Roger would have been ranked ATP No.2 but not SEEDED No.2 at Wimbledon. Anyways, it doesn't matter now. Let's just wish him all the best and that the stars are aligned, love to the Champ, xxxxx

Tennis is not so long ago was a beautiful and exciting sport, not more. Final between Rafa and Novak are too long (unnecessary) and uninteresting.
As a tennis fan, please, Roger and the other players to stop them.

Fine that Rafa won FO, at least he's been fair to our Champ; he shattered Rog's dream of winning all GS in a row twice. Djoker does not have a career GS and his dream of 4GS in a row ended. On the other hand, Rafa got 11 GS now, just 5 short of that possessed by our Champ.

I read as many of Roger's interview transcripts as I can(Only the FO is rubbish enough to not have transcripts prepared from every interview)when Roger went to No.3, he said (same meaning)'No.3 makes no difference from No.4....if it were No.2, then it would matter'

Do you guys know how to support Roger? By hoping the guy who has the closest no. of Grand Slams to Roger, get one more? Are you guys serious?
No difference?! The draw for Wimbledon is made AFTER the French Open!

Please wake up

I think it is of great importance to pull yourself together! In my opinion, you gave this victory to Djokovic. Not only was at his worst condition, but also (when you did play) you were absolutely stunning. Still can't believe what happened!
We have been waiting for 2 years for a GS and your 17th. If it goes like this, not sure if you will ever make it!
Love you no matter what.. (can't stand both Nadal and Djoko)
Long live the king!!
