Roger in semis

Roger won his quarter final against Milos Roanic 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6(3) today to book his spot in the semi-finals in Halle.

"It was a great match on a high level and I am glad that it worked out so well" said Roger.

Roanic's strong serves - 220 km/h - were a tough weapon for Roger to battle against. But Roger did so very well, not facing a single break-ball during the entire match. The Canadian simply had that extra bit of luck in the tie-break of the first set. In the second, Roger stayed focused to secure the only break of the match. In the final set, our champ then made sure to score enough mini-breaks in the tie-break to convert his second match-ball for a spot in the semis.

Next up is Mikhail Youzhny (ATP 31). Roger leads the head-to-head 12-0.

Well Done Roger....Do well in the finals too..be focused and play like a king in Grass....and have a 7th Wimbledon Trophy also.....all the very best...and u are going to reach at NUMBER 1 position in Wimbledon itself. Do you know that ? YES.....We TOO........

*williamalphonso* What is your problem: 'shots lack speed and accuracy' do you say these things deliberately to annoy? Did you even watch the match? Few would have withstood that barrage of aces and first serves coming down at an average of 220 km/hr. Roger's experience against such big servers held him in good stead and he took the few opportunities he was given. What a true champion he is. All the very best again lovely, lovely man, xxxxx

Well done Roger. Tough match. At one point i thought you were going to choke under pressure after being 4-5 and 15-30 down. But you proved me wrong and I'm very happy about that.
