Roger and Stan advance

Roger and Stanislas Wawrinka advanced to the second round of the London Olympics thanks to a 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-4 victory over Kei Nishikori and Go Soeda of Japan.

The Swiss missed a total of four break chances in the opening set, but secured the second thanks to an early break. They managed just the same in the third set, not giving away the advantage of an early lead after a break and wrapping up the match upon the second match-ball after 2 hours and 16 minutes.

They will now play Israel's Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram.

Although it was longer than you wanted, you two pulled it out great. That is the thing. Stick with it until you win. I hope your body feels ok Roger after the two matches. But you did so well in singles I guess you had some energy for doubles. Again, stick with it, win, fight ugly if you have to. Defend your gold.
