Round three in Paris

31.05.2013 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Our Roger came through the 3rd round with a commanding 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 against Benneteau in 91 minutes today.

Every time the Benneteau raised his game so did our champ – even with a break down in the final set Roger broke back at 4-5 for 5-5 and went on to win the set 7-5. Benneteau gave him his stiffest test so far and there was some delightful touch tennis volleys between the two. In the end Roger’s champion’s approach outclassed his opponent.

He will now meet either Sam Querry or Giles Simon in the next round.

Roger! You did it! I'm very very happy! Oh my God! I was watching the match and I was nervous all the time. I don't know what happened with you after the first set, you did countless unforced errors and you didn't concentrate, I was very upset.. And it continued in the third set.. But I don't care about this! Luckily, you were able to fight till the end, and this means the most! I wish you very good luck on Tuesday! Relax and don't think about today's match. Always look ahead! Love you always!♥

The thing which got Roger back to the match was his drop shot, he used it nearly at the end of the 3rd set and it worked, as Simon runs to get the drop shot Federer easily lobs the ball or sends it cross-court when it reaches to him and he used this alot in last 2 sets in order to win, what a great technique!!!!

CESARDBA,

for future reference, Kemna is a girl's name, I am a girl, not a guy and as you can see from my flag, I am from Holland.

You know why I said you were a loser and that you should shut up. We all have our right to comment here, so do you. But you come on this site after a year, see Roger play and the first thing you say is that he should retire. That is why I was so mean to you. Roger does not deserve that, especially from a 'fan' who is back on his site after a year.

We all wanted him to be tested. He was. Tsonga is playing incredible, but Roger will win, even if he plays like today, he's a fighter.
