Roger has won 6:3, 3:6 and 6:4 against the Croatian Mario Ancic, and will face the British Tim Henman in the quarterfinals.

The match was intense, because Roger had to play a second time within 23 hours under floodlights. Again, the three previous matches held for a long time.

After 15 minutes, Roger led 4:1, having lost his service four times. For one hour, he was unable to manage a single break against Ancic, who got stronger and who served stronger. In the decisive set, Ancic countered Roger’s break for 2:1, but he did not succeed in reacting against Roger’s altogether fourth break.

In the quarterfinals, Roger will face Tim Henman, against whom he has won the last two matches and the last five sets; however, he lost six times to Henman, the last time being in Rotterdam one year ago.
