Cincinnati
Roger secured his place in the second round of the Western & Southern Financial Group Masters in Cincinnati with a 7-6(3) 7-5 win over American James Blake.
The top seed took what proved to be a decisive 5-2 tie-break lead after both players held their serve during the first set.
Blake then broke in the second game of the next set and went 3-0 up before Roger supremo won the next three, breaking his opponent back in the fifth. Blake's chances collapsed as he conceded five consecutive points to lose serve before Federer served out the match at 40-30.
It was Roger's first match on the ATP Tour since his Wimbledon victory six weeks ago. «There is certainly still room for improvement and I know I can play better than that - but the performance was already sufficient for a victory in two sets.»

Its a bit late but still, BEST OF LUCK!!!!
Good wishes are always with you.

I was checking the live scoreboard every hour
or so (too anxious to see it point by point!) and
got so worried when Kiefer won the first set
(especially remembering the little scare he gave you at Wimbledon).
I am very happy fo
Kiefer is tough, and after Wimbledon had something to prove. You're still too good. Well done.
