Roger was an easy first-round winner Tuesday at the U.S. Open, beating Ivo Minar 6-1, 6-1, 6-1 in a brisk 64 minutes at Ashe Stadium.
Roger served a total of 12 aces and held his serve throughout the mismatch, taking home a clear victory against Minar on his US Open debut. Roger is now whopping 65-3 this season, including a co-ATP-best nine titles. French Open champ Rafael Nadal also owns nine championships in this 2005 campaign.
Roger's second-round opponent will be crafty Frenchman Fabrice Santoro.
Congratulations on your victory in the 1st round!! Be confident, you can do it, just don't put too much pressure on yourself like poor Roddick. We stand by you whatever happens and we love you. I'm sure you can defend your title :) Good luck

Good luck in the second round with the always dangerous Santoro.You are best than Santoro but Roddick lost with Muller been Roddick the favourite. Be careful Roger although you makes your tennis you will win easily.
