Defeat at the Kooyong Classic

11.01.2006 | Tennis

Roger was upset by Tommy Haas at the Kooyong Classic - a warmup tournament for the Australian Open. Haas (GER), ranked No. 41, triumphed 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the opening round of the exhibition tournament in Melbourne.

Roger hit 39 unforced errors, against Haas' 30, and produced only two of his 15 winners on the backhand. As the tournament is an invitational it does not count towards the official rankings.

"With all the injuries in men's tennis, I'm just happy to be standing," Roger said. "I'm happy I arrived OK and played through the match without any pain."

DEAR ROGER,

I'VE BEEN OUT FOR A LONG TIME BUT I STILL PRAY FOR YOU. NEVER MIND THE DEFEAT THAT WILL HELP YOU TO BE MORE CAREFUL IN THE OPEN.
SAY YOUR PRAYER TOO AND THE BLESSING WILL ALWAYS BE UPON YOU.

GOD BLESS, ROGER

Hi Roger

Glad to hear that you no longer have pain. That was great news, and it meant much more in long run than a victory. Take very good rest and good care. I wish you all the best in the Australian Open.

:) :) :)

You know best why you lost, no one can analyse better than you. Deep down you know.
Total confidence in your abilities in the AO, u will treat it differently than an exhibition match.
All the best, stay healthy !
Go...........................Roger !!!!
