Roger was given a preview of his potential Australian Open third-round clash when he just squeezed past Mirnyi, leaving his best until the very last before winning 6-7 (1-7) 6-4 7-6 (7-1).
"Players like him, they've got great serves, they're great athletes, at the net especially but I think at the same time it's a great challenge to always keep on passing. You're always going to see nice points and always a lot of winners and I enjoy that actually."
He plays unknown wildcard Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan in the first round of the Australian Open. Roger is really looking forward to the first big tournament this year. "There's obviously nerves always involved and a lot at stake for me."
I have no doubt that the nerves help you to play better. I am sure the FED EXPRESS will make it to the finals as it would be good to recify what happened last year when you should have been in the final ! Good Luck and hi to Mirka too - Mar
