Health Problems in Miami

31.03.2004 | Off Court

Roger did not feel well at all after his victory in Indian Wells. He showed strong symptoms of nausea and fever after sunstroke. Due to this problematic health situation it was not possible for him to continue his usual rhythm of training. It was only on the day before his first match at the NASDAQ-100 Open when he was able to absolve his first training session. Roger managed to defeat Davydenko in the first match investing a lot of energy and having to pay for it with muscle ache shortly thereafter. His next opponent, Nadal, was simply too strong and Roger noticed the lack of training especially by a low speed of reaction. Now Roger is on his way back to Switzerland where he will take up training next Monday in Lausanne for the Davis Cup.
