Roger defeated by Nadal in thrilling final

Unfortunately Roger was not able to make a huge tream come true today. He lost to Rafael Nadal at today's final of the French Open: 6-1, 1-6, 4-6, 6-7.

"Rafael totally deserved to win this tournament," Roger said after the match. The Spaniard extended his Roland Garros perfect record to 14-0 and his winning streak on clay to 60 matches, leaving Roger opponent one match shy of becoming the first man since Rod Laver in 1969 to hold all four grand slams simultaneously.

Roger was in a class of his own in the first set, breaking twice a nervous Nadal. The 20-year-old Spaniard, however, hit back in the second and pocketed the third having saved four break points. He then broke in the first game of the fourth set but Roger needed only one break point to level at 5-5, only for Rafael Nadal to win the tiebreak 7-4 and the match after three hours and two minutes.

I thought going to the final in Roland Garros was a huge step. I thought you were playing against all ods. I am happy you are safe and free from injuries. Nothing takes away the fact that your are the best. Wish you the best.

Don't be discouraged Roger we know you are the best and no one can change that not even Rafael Nadal the important thing is that you had fun. Also Nadal looks AWFULL in clay.

well you lost but it' s ok!I know,all of us know that you are the greatest tennis player,no metter if you lose against nadal on clay,I'm sure that the next year the Roland Garros will be yours!I trust you!

Hi Roger,

I am just one of the MANY fans here who is disappointed for you to have lost the French final to Nadal, but definitely NOT disappointed IN you. As usual you played with class and grace and did what you could to counter Rafa's heavy topspin.

Hi Roger,

You lost, but not for the WIMBLEDON. I was delight with the 1st set in the roland garros final. You were on fire ! But, as I looked through the match, i felt very dissapointed. I am never thought that this might happened.
