Roger defeated by Nadal in thrilling final

Unfortunately Roger was not able to make a huge tream come true today. He lost to Rafael Nadal at today's final of the French Open: 6-1, 1-6, 4-6, 6-7.

"Rafael totally deserved to win this tournament," Roger said after the match. The Spaniard extended his Roland Garros perfect record to 14-0 and his winning streak on clay to 60 matches, leaving Roger opponent one match shy of becoming the first man since Rod Laver in 1969 to hold all four grand slams simultaneously.

Roger was in a class of his own in the first set, breaking twice a nervous Nadal. The 20-year-old Spaniard, however, hit back in the second and pocketed the third having saved four break points. He then broke in the first game of the fourth set but Roger needed only one break point to level at 5-5, only for Rafael Nadal to win the tiebreak 7-4 and the match after three hours and two minutes.

I couldn't send this message before because I felt so bad for your defeat that had no thoughts, no words, nothing at all! I felt quite disappointed, couldn't believe that once more he won. What happened Roger? How could you play that first set so perfect

It was so hard for me to watch you running around to play your forehand in ways that you usually would not, as if you lost confidence in your own back hand.

Nadal is the King of the Clay but Roger is the King of the Tennis. I have no doubt that your dream will come true in a near future....Grand Slam Holder. Have fun on the grass court.
