18.09.2014 | Tennis, Starseite 1

The tennis highlight to finish the season: Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka will play on December 21, 2014 at Zurich's Hallenstadion to benefit the Roger Federer Foundation.

Zurich, September 18, 2014 – Shortly before Christmas 2010, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal put on an exciting show for their fans in Zurich's fully-booked Hallenstadion with the first Match for Africa. The new edition of the popular Exhibition Night will feature Switzerland's two best tennis players of all time meeting for the ultimate showdown – all in aid of the Roger Federer Foundation. 17-time Grand Slam winner Roger Federer will face the 2014 Australian Open Champion and current world number 4 Stan Wawrinka in Zurich on the evening of Sunday, December 21, 2014. Tickets for the Exhibition Night, along with its attractive entertainment program, will be available from Ticketcorner as of October 1, 2014.

The Roger Federer Foundation supports children living in poverty and helps them to realize their potential. The foundation supports education projects in six countries in southern Africa and in Switzerland. This year it is already reaching out to 146,000 children.

I am in the same boat FANCY! I do not relish the thought any more than you. I am hoping I can find a better way of getting a ticket via my contacts and at least sit next to a Swiss.
The stupid thing is all the French team are Swiss residents! They should show some loyalty to their adopted country and encourage the Swiss team to win! They may take the meaning of Hopp Suisse to mean them. Lol!

If I buy through FFT, would I have to sit amongst the frogs? I couldn't bear it!

What a wonderful idea - another Match for Africa and two of Switzerland's great heroes to play it! Can't wait!

Yes and no. FANCY. There is probably going to be only around 3000 tickets offered to the Swiss Tennis. Not many at all. I think there will be more news in around 12-15 days. I do not know when things will become available. They will be hard to get hold of. Best bet through FFT In France. At least my red shirt will stand out nicely from the blue, better take a flag to make sure and maybe a bell! Still, Roger and Stan will quieten down the French fans!

It is becoming expensive year living here BALSTED, all these special tennis matches, all in one year! I am joking of course, I am lucky being here to be able to see these matches, Roger will sadly not play forever, I will go and make the most of him while I can. The match should be quite entertaining, I doubt either will remain serious the whole evening. Both have a wicked sense of humour.
