Roger cruises into semis

Roger cruised into the semi-finals in Basel today with a clear 6-3, 6-2 victory against Radek Stepanek (ATP 38).

Roger played brilliant, effortless tennis against a rather weak Stepanek today. Our champ could once again rely on his strong serve and was always at his best during the important points. One break in the first and two in the second set gave Roger the necessary lead to take home the match. He has yet to face a break-point in Basel this year.

Roger will now meet America's Andy Roddick (ATP 9) in the semis on Saturday. Roger has a clear 19-2 lead in the head-to-head.

I am so glad this news article is here already, because I just can't stop being astounded at Roger's mastery, his shotmaking, and that he can do wtih the ball, racquet and court what he wants to! Step tried very hard, but Roger, he was just above anyone on the tourney now, and ever, and he stands alone with his huge talent, and skills: he is the very essence of what tennis can be and is about. Also, I loved the faster court: there should be more faster courts, rather than those turtle ones!

So for me if ROGI will end this year away less than 3500 points and keep healthy with the same level of performance as now I think it will not be very difficult for ROGI to regain No 1 spot by winning next Wimbledon...

Actually I fully agree with you that ROGI win Nadal in WTF in London will bring us a great pleasure BUT BUT on the other hand I don't agree with you about ROGI should forget No1 spot cuz Nadal has to defend 5900 points after Aussie open till Wimbledon while Rogi has to defend only less than 1500 points. So this is also a massive gap tends to Roger side.. So for me if ROGI will end this year away less than 3500 points and keep the same level of performance as now
