Emmi signs Roger to new multi-year deal

Emmi and Roger Federer are continuing their partnership that began in mid-2002 with Federer, who has since become Switzerlands most successful sportsman of all time. The 24-year-old ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) No. 1 will also work together with Emmi Switzerland's leading producer of cheese and dairy products at the international level as well. As the face of Emmi, he will partner the company in the international launch and marketing of innovative concepts. So far, the partnership has focused exclusively on Emmi's activities in the Swiss market.

I look forward to carrying on working with such a dynamic Swiss company as Emmi," said Roger Federer on signing the new contract. "We are delighted to be able to work with the world's most successful Swiss sportsman, and what's more at the international level," enthused Walter Huber, CEO of the Emmi Group. The partnership between Roger Federer and Emmi is based on four years of loyalty and mutual goodwill, Emmi supported the current world No. 1 back before he reached the ATP's top ten.

Roger Federer's debut appearance in connection with the new agreement will be to support the launch of the performance drink LACTO TAB, a next-generation beverage and packaging concept available since the beginning of July 2006. The performance drink is based on milk serum and enriched with micronutrients such as Q10, as well as vitamins and minerals. The coenzyme Q10 plays an important role in the body's energy-generating process.

Against the backdrop of the step-by-step expansion of Emmi's international activities in Europe and North America, the partnership with world-famous personality Roger Federer is a major step towards increasing awareness of the Emmi brand and the company's innovative products in key markets such as the UK, Germany, France, Italy and the USA.

About Roger Federer

Born August 8, 1981, in Basel, Switzerland, Roger turned pro in 1998 and has set numerous records and established new standards for his sport ever since. The international superstar is not only celebrated for his victories, but also for his style and grace on and off the tennis court. Earlier this month, he won his fourth consecutive Wimbledon title, his eighth Grand Slam title. Last year, he became the first man in almost 70 years to win both Wimbledon and the US Open in consecutive years equalling a record set in 1937-1938. He won 11 tournaments in both 2004 and 2005, another record.
