In October 2005, Judy, a fan on Roger's website, started her first forum topic:  “The Roger Federer Hot Legs Amendment of 2005”. "It was meant entirely as a joke topic from the beginning and has continued to do so - always in good taste and with the greatest respect for Roger and Mirka of course!" says Judy.

"This thread was created for those of you who still don't know why Roger doesn't wear those notorious clam-digger pants on a regular basis: you see, it's against the law. No, really!" is the opening passage. The thread is full of little jokes or photo captions relating to the topic - with over 3'000 comments already having been posted. You should check it out; you’re bound to be in for a laugh!

From this thread a group of fans decided to do some fundraising. They produced a t-shirt in red with the print:

, selling these shirts to fans. Thanks to sales as well as sponsors for those who could not afford to buy one, they collected the proud sum of US$ 1'000.- which has been donated to Roger's Foundation. Roger also received his own t-shirt together with and a folder with a personal letter from all the participants (from 13 countries).

Roger was thrilled by the idea and the contribution: "I would like to sincerely thank the Roger Federer Hot Legs Amendment Crew for their fundraising efforts. It is terrific to receive a cheque over $1’000.- this way, the cool t-shirt as well as all the greetings. You girls are great!"
