Roger wins World Tour Finals!

28.11.2010 | Tennis, Starseite 3

Roger defeated Rafael Nadal at the ATP World Tour Finals in London 6-3, 3-6 and 6-1 today, defeating the current number one of the world at the inofficial World Championships!

Roger has won the prestigious season-ending-event five times now after his last victory in 2007. He certainly proved that he is hot for the 2011 season. "I am already looking forward to the training starting beginning of December. The start of the season won't be easy as I will have to defend my title at the Australian Open, my only Grand Slam title this year. And staying uninjured will also be an important aspect," Roger said.

Roger played his absolute best today, attacking with his forehand and serving well throughout almost the entire match. After the two players split the first two sets, each breaking the other's serve once, Roger had the first opportunity to break in the third set when Nadal sent a forehand wide in the fourth game. Our champ then took advantage of a second serve to race the net and Nadal drove a forehand pass wide to give Roger a 3-1 lead. Roger then held serve and gained two break points in the next game. He needed just one to grab a commanding 5-1 lead after Nadal netted a backhand. He then opened a 40-0 lead in the final game before Nadal won a point, but Roger smacked a forehand past the Spaniard, not sure whether it was in or not at first, celebrating his victory as he saw the linesman's hands were still held together.

I haven't posted for a while, I'm finding this homepage knd of unfamiliar, can't tell the beginning from the end, doesn't tell me how many posted, am I the only one?
Anway, I have watched Roger matches at the WTF over & over & over again. I am so happy for our Champ, his family, his team & for us fans for this royal seal of 2010 year with his win in the Championship final. I was so happy that he got to play Rafa because, unless one is blind, you have to see that deep contrast between those two

Roger made Nadal looked like some mediocre in that match. Though Nadal won a set, he actually hit only 1 ace and only 11 winners and could only win 10 games in 3 sets. This kind of match stats was just too vulnerable for a USO champion and the No.1 in the world and someone who is supposed to be invincible and can beat anyone on all surfaces anytime, anywhere, blah, blah ,blah.
Roger had 7 aces, 32 winners and a remarkable 92% winning percentage on 1st serve. Roger is the real No.1 no doubt.

Brilliantly done federer sir.I am so happy to see you beat rafa in a final after quite a some time. You had proved that nothing can stop you from winning against any one once more which you had done on numerous occasions in the past 7-8 years.I want you to retain the australian open and win the rest of the grand slams in 2011.You only can do taht and you are the best for ever.I want to see roger coming into 2011 season with all guns firing. All the very best for 2011.common roger..we all with you

LOVED IT WHEN ROGER IN HIS INTERVIEW WITH SKY SPORTS AFTER THE FINAL SAID :

" I WANTED TO GIVE HIM ( RAFA ) THE FEELING THAT THE WIN OR THE LOSS WAS GONNA BE ON MY RACKET , NOT ON HIS ".

INDEED.

ALSO LOVE THE WAY ROGER IS HAVING FUN OUT THERE , HE SAYS MOST OF THE TIME BEFORE BIG MATCHES : "WE'LL HAVE SOME FUN OUT THERE AND SEE HOW IT GOES "

THIS "RELAXED MORE THAN EVER" ROGER , AFTER SHATTERING ALL RECORDS , MAKES FED PLAY MORE FREELY , IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME FOR THE RESULTS TO F

FEDERER PROVED ONCE AGAIN THAT IF :

1- HE SERVES VERY WELL
2- HE IS FIT AND HEALTHY
3- HE STICKS TO HIS GAME PLAN

HE CAN BEAT ANYBODY

I WOULDN'T SAY THE "OLD" FEDERER IS BACK , INSTEAD, I WOULD SAY WE HAVE A "RENEWED" FEDERER , WITH A BACKHAND THAT IS NOW EVEN MORE RELIABLE THAN HIS ALREADY LEGENDARY FOREHAND , THE BACKHAND NOW IS A DEVASTATING WEAPON , DESIGNED TO HANDLE SODERLING'S FLAT SHOTS AND NADAL'S EXTREME TOPSPIN
