Match for Africa: Donate and win

The highlight to end the tennis season, "The Match for Africa - The great Federer-Charity-Night", will take place in Zürich tomorrow. The event will benefit the Roger Federer Foundation, the main act of the evening being the exhibition match between Roger and Rafael Nadal.

The Roger Federer Foundation supports projects in various African countries such as Tanzania, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe and South Africa. Projects all involve support of children in the areas of schooling and education.

A telephone line for donations has already been openend (only available within Switzerland): 0901 311 411. Every call is charged 2.50 Swiss Francs and at least 2.00 of these are then forwarded to the Roger Federer Foundation. All callers automatically take part in a draw for an autographed racket as well as further great prizes.

Good idea, with the telephone calls themselves in Switzerland being donations! Very original. I wish all Swiss citizens who call good luck: anyone who wins the racquets is getting a piece of history, from the past, to the present, and future.
