Roger defeated in high-class|Final

Roger was defeated 6-7(4), 6-7(3) by Rafael Nadal in the final of the World Tennis Championships exhibition tournament in Abu Dhabi today.

Roger took a 3-0 lead in the first tiebreaker, but then simply committed too many unforced errors and eventually dropped the set. The second set also proved to be a tough fight as neither of the two players was able to score a break. Eventually it was Nadal's serve that helped him clinch the match in the second tie-breaker.

Roger will now make his way to Doha for the Qatar Exxonmobil Open which starts on Monday.

Not a bad start of the year, Roger! I am glad you played in this event and have gotten into the competitive form. Good luck with the next tournament in Abu Dhabi!

There were a lot of breathtaking shots from Roger in this match. Enjoyable to watch even with UEs, some of which came from experimenting. Good luck in the official tournaments now. :))

It was so close ! You should have won, Rogi, but it was an exho and it was obvious that you played it with a light heart as an exho should be played.
Rafa, on the other end would give his soul to beat you anywhere, anytime !,

Hi Roger. You are the best tennis player I have ever seen. Your strokes are so fluid. I think You have at least 2 more years to competitive tennis, and great oppotunities to be number 1 this year. I know You are focused in Grand Slam, but with Nadal You must to concentrate and beat him. You are better than him. Believe.
