Roger defeated in high-class|Final

01.01.2011 | Tennis, Starseite 3

Roger was defeated 6-7(4), 6-7(3) by Rafael Nadal in the final of the World Tennis Championships exhibition tournament in Abu Dhabi today.

Roger took a 3-0 lead in the first tiebreaker, but then simply committed too many unforced errors and eventually dropped the set. The second set also proved to be a tough fight as neither of the two players was able to score a break. Eventually it was Nadal's serve that helped him clinch the match in the second tie-breaker.

Roger will now make his way to Doha for the Qatar Exxonmobil Open which starts on Monday.

Happy New Year for you and your family! Look forward to follow you this year, just seeing you play is a joy... if you win is a plus! But you're the best no matter what!

Nice practice session Roger. Now on to bigger things. Good luck in 2011!!

A win would have been nice, but you played some great tennis. You will have to be mentally tough in OZ - my main worry is not so much you losing as Nadal winning and holding all 4 slam titles. That is a grim thought.
Still. apparently Nadal won this title last year and then ... (I'd been convinced it had been Davy). All good luck and happiness in 2011. And to all the fans too.

No problem Roger, it was a tight match and anything can happen in tiebreaks. Hope you can tighten up the UEs in time for the Australian Open. Good luck preparing champ.

Dear Roger
I'm sorry that you haven't managed to win today. For me it's hypocrisy to say: ''it doesn't matter dear Roger, it's an exhibition match, win or lose it's the same''! Never for me! But I haven't seen the match, according to the result it was tight, so you could have won, as well. No nice news for me, but I hope you'll not repeat such results.
I wish you all the best and good luck in the future. The most important is to stay healthy and focused.
Love, Mimi

It doesn't matter, as far as I'm concerned. You don't have to exhaust yourself here. Pacing yourself is more important than winning every match.
Take care and good luck in Doha.
God bless you!
