Roger loses in three sets

27.01.2011 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger was defeated 6-7(3), 5-7 and 4-6 by Novak Djokovic in the semi-final of the Australian Open today. Roger struggled to stem Djokovic's aggressive assault, and also had problems with his serve.

Roger was unable to dominate the match and had troubles holding up right from the start. Djokovic won a tense 57-minute first set in a tie-break. Hopes of a comeback for Roger evaporated in the second set when, having fought back from a break down to lead 5-2, he was swept aside by a run of five consecutive games for the Serbian.

Roger was broken once again to 1-2 in the third set, before fighting his way back to 4-4 with a threaded forehand down the line. But unfortunately it was only a brief moment of hope as he went on to save three match-points in the final game and eventually had to admit the defeat.

The loss leaves Roger without one of the four Grand Slam titles for the first time since 2003.

Dearest Roger

You always present great tennis
Don't worry
Be healthy and optimistic
as you mention in your report after the match

The year is only at the begining
There are many coming tournments
And what makes us optimistic is your great playing and existence

Always support you

Always love you

Good news (I did the math~): Even if DJOKER wuz 2 win his only 2nd GS here @ AO, he'd still be behind our idol RF in the ranking, soOoOo Roger'll still be WN2, but barely...

C'MONNN, CHAMP, LET'S RETOOL YOUR FOCUS-N-FEDEROCITY & STOP GIFT-GIVING WHILE U'RE IN THE LEAD BY SHUTTIN' THAT DOOR & BRING HOME THE WINNINGS 4 2011~!!

Speaking 4 rest of Federites/Rogerholics, we're INCREDIBLY DISHEARTENED that our Champ came up short, yet again against that DJOKER, but we're ALSO INCREDIBLY BLESSED/ENCOURAGED that our Champ will once again prevail/bounce back since there are 3 GS left 2b had...

In 2010, our idol RF suffered 8 monumental losses by failing 2 convert his BREAKs, and now, he's failing to close out the game while maintainin' the lead--THIS GIFT-GIVING TREND HAS GOT 2 STOP ASAP~!

C'mon, Champ, let's refocus~!

I am surprised you did not see it coming. Your new game plan to attack is not working and you probably need to sit with your new coach and redraw your plan or fire him.
Capitalize on speed and your ability to hit the ball early, with your new game plan you are losing that edge.
Attack the second serves - stop pushing the balls into play.
Unforced Errors vs Winners should only be used on Opponents serves, drop the errors on your own serves.
Want to see you win and get back to #1.
Good luck
