Roger suffers defeat number two

Roger was defeated in straight sets by Novak Djokovic in the final of the Dubai Tennis Championships today.

"I had a tough start and a tough end but Novak played a solid tournament all the way through and deserved to win,” Roger said. “It was a tough end for me but still a great tournament."

Roger faced a strong Djokovic right from the start and was clearly dominated in the first set. It looked better in set number two as he broke the Serb to take a 3-1 lead. But unfortunately he had to constantly battle with problems with his timing and rhythm, losing 20 of the following 25 points and eventually the match.

I am so sorry you lost but as you say you are going to have to practice some of your shots.
It seems the ones you were great at have let you down.
But I will be watching you at Indian Wells go go Roger you can do better love Helen still your number one fan love you to bits xxxx

please, my beloved god of tennis, you can't loose one match like DUBAI VS. THE BOXER. YOU ARE A GENIUS, WHY DON'T YOU CHANGE YOUR WAY OF PLAYING? SERVE AND VOLLEY WHEN POSSIBLE, ONLY YOU CAN DO THAT.

ND is and always will be a dull player compared with you. Against Berdych what boredom! But he's full of self belief just now (and doesn't it show - ugh!) andhas got inside your head. Someone on another site commented you're caught between your old game and your new - that's not fatal, you can sort that out, but remember you are the greatest and always will be. I hope you do well in IW and Miami - do not ever forget how great you are.

Your fans support you, love you, believe in you! I know that you don't have time to read these beautiful, sometimes thoughtful, messages, but there must be someone to read it for you and tell you, of course if you are interested, if you care. I'm sure you care and that's why we all want to tell you: you are still young for the great achievements, don't allow your opponents to beat you in the crucial moments. You can and have to avoid being defeated.

Hello Roger

Please try to focuss on your back hand shots more. feeling very sad after watching your match on saturday. U were not up to the mark through out the match. Please work hard man. Cant see u loosing the match like this

I believe in you. I shall not say that the defeat doesn't matter. I feel sad. After not dropping a set throughout the tournament, you end up losing in straights!! what to make of this! I don't know.
