Roger in quarters

17.03.2011 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger won his match against America's Ryan Harrison 7-6(4), 6-3 to reach the quarters in Indian Wells.

"He was making it very hard for me," Roger said after the match. "It was a very tricky match. I think he's going to have a great future."

Against the expectations, Roger had to battle against the young American in the first set as Harrison showed a tough fight until the last moments of the tie-break. The second set saw much more focused serving from Roger who won 77% of his service points and reached a quota of 65% first serves. After 85 minutes, Roger used his fourth matchball to win.

In the quarters Roger will face his Swiss friend Stanislas Wawrinka.

Congrats Champ! All the best tomorrow against Djokovic! The media is making lot of fuss now about the No.2 ranking on the line, which was also the case in many encounters last year. Just focus and bring your A-game on. Be prepared for lot of returns back as his game-plan is based on your errors. I'm sure you know better and come out on top tomorrow.

The scheduling and the draw are clearly in Nadal's favor. FYI, the tournament owner looked very upset when Karlovic was erasing those match-points for Nadal yesterday. Could be business reasons but that added to my belief that the draw was manipulated to Nadal's favor. I could be wrong here.

Roger: You're doing a great job right now, but ITS NOT FAIR you have to play twice a day -specially before your game with Djoko- and with no time to recuperate. Somebody is not doing the job properly....
We all know you have a remarkable strength... but I repeat: they are not treating you fairly!!!

Roger plays singles at 3pm, then doubles at 6pm today

I think it is a mistake about the schedule. He plays single at 3 pm, not 6 pm. http://www.atpworldtour.com/posting/2011/404/op.pdf
