Roger in quarters

17.03.2011 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger won his match against America's Ryan Harrison 7-6(4), 6-3 to reach the quarters in Indian Wells.

"He was making it very hard for me," Roger said after the match. "It was a very tricky match. I think he's going to have a great future."

Against the expectations, Roger had to battle against the young American in the first set as Harrison showed a tough fight until the last moments of the tie-break. The second set saw much more focused serving from Roger who won 77% of his service points and reached a quota of 65% first serves. After 85 minutes, Roger used his fourth matchball to win.

In the quarters Roger will face his Swiss friend Stanislas Wawrinka.

**AD10008** i agree roger will win more slams. look what he did at the end of last year. he beat DJ 3x last fall: shanghi, basel, and wtf. it is clear he CAN beat him. i think rog is the best player ever. he is great now. but at times he is inconsistent. he can win slams and other events being inconsistent because he is that great. i was comparing rog with rog about 2006. hope he wins IW and makes me eat my words. i just compare rog with pete at 29. (rog is better). but that's why i said age.

Dear Roger
Congratulations for the win in doubles! It's great really, bravo! Good training!
I wish you a good match and to win your fellow Stan!!! It's more diffult to say than to do, I know, he is playing well, but there must be the difference between both of you! Show you are the best!!!
I pray God for you to stay healthy, focused and calm! Please do it!
I wish you all the best and good luck dearest Roger.
Go, Roger, goooooooo
Love, Mimi

Hi Roger. Good Luck for games tomorrow. You have a big day ahead, with playing your freind and then having to play doubles with him against Nadal and Co. But oh you can handle it, you are fit and healthy and make you match hardy.
p.s. ignore all the talk about your career, inconsitencies- You are a GREAT CHAMPION and you are still enjoying the game, so you just do your best and if their are good days and bad-SO BE IT.

I agree with you. Roger has a mental problem. Strangel, once his mental strength was his greatest power. If he clear his head then we can expect new GS titles and first place, if not ..... Time will tell.
I wish him luck.

I am not agree with your thoughts about future of Federer. Federer can play consistent for three years, at least. He has one major problem: his mental. If he can improve this, he can beat anyone, anywhere. In AO, Djokovic beat him becouse of his mental, not becouse of his age. He makes too many UE not becouse he is tired and he can not reach to the ball, becouse of state of mind. When he is too passive, he loose and he is not too passive becouse of Djokovic.
