Semis against Djokovic and |doubles final!

Roger has made it through to the semis in Indian Wells thanks to a clear 6-3, 6-4 victory against his compatriot and doubles-partner Stanislas Wawrinka

Roger was in control right from the start as he earned 89% points on his first serve with the help of 14 winners and committed just 12 unforced errors, compared to Wawrinka's 28. The first set lastet 29 minutes and Roger was able to seal his victory after 63 minutes.

Roger will now play Novak Djokovic in Saturday's semi-final.

 

Roger had a mere two hours for interviews and some rest before making his way onto court a second time with Stan as the two played the defending champions in the doubles tournament. Our two Olympic champs defeated Nadal/Lopez 7-5, 6-3 and will now play Alexandr Dolgopolov and Xavier Malisse in the final!

You came so close today Roger. You played great but Novak was just a little better. I look forward to your doubles final match now. I thought you and Stan played fantastically yesterday and I hope you are not too tired or discouraged after your singles match today. Best of luck to you and Stan, you can do it! Great seeing you play together again.

Hey Champ, good fight in the 2nd set. Not sure what happened in the 3rd set. You broke back to 2-2 and was up 40-15. And then a flurry of silly errors... For a moment I thought the match was under your control and then seconds later it's gone. But that's ok. You got the tough draw. Just stay focused. There's lot of season left. I'm sure you can get the No 1 ranking back, it's just matter of one big tournament win for you and things turn around.

It hurts to see you lose champ :((. I wish I could do something so you could always be playing your magic :(. Oh man - I wish so much you could do it - one more time at least - win one of these tournaments... It hurts champ - I suffer with you and I pray with you. You deserve more wins :) Root for you forever, no matter what. Love you champ. Love you forever - best tennis player ever no doubt about it.

I just dont see Roger returning to number 1 he can't even beat djokovic anymore, thats how poor its become all the top 4 now have better chances at beating him, guys Rogers reign at the top is gone forever
