Semis against Djokovic and |doubles final!

19.03.2011 | Starseite 1, Tennis

Roger has made it through to the semis in Indian Wells thanks to a clear 6-3, 6-4 victory against his compatriot and doubles-partner Stanislas Wawrinka

Roger was in control right from the start as he earned 89% points on his first serve with the help of 14 winners and committed just 12 unforced errors, compared to Wawrinka's 28. The first set lastet 29 minutes and Roger was able to seal his victory after 63 minutes.

Roger will now play Novak Djokovic in Saturday's semi-final.

Roger had a mere two hours for interviews and some rest before making his way onto court a second time with Stan as the two played the defending champions in the doubles tournament. Our two Olympic champs defeated Nadal/Lopez 7-5, 6-3 and will now play Alexandr Dolgopolov and Xavier Malisse in the final!

Awfully good victories Fed. The singles match was particularly great, and you kept the control by your side for the entire game, and you played so focused.
And now... Novak. You haven't been able to beat him this year. Last encounters were quite weird, 'cos you looked defeated since the beginning of both matches. It's time to claim for your pride, Roger, to show you still have the best tennis on your racket. Jump onto to the court plenty of confidence, champ. Best wishes and see u in the final!
