Another loss against Djokovic

20.03.2011 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger suffered another defeat against Novak Djokovic in Indian Wells today, losing the semi-final 3-6, 6-3 and 2-6. Roger will now drop to number 3 in the world ranking as Djokovic takes his place.

The Serbian simply played too well in the opening set today as Roger trailed behind 3-6. But Roger then showed all his experience to reel in the younger opponent to level the match by taking the second 6-3. As the match went on both players displayed sublime skills but it was Djokovic who held his nerve in the end, winning the big points to secure to progress to the final after 126 minutes.

It is the ninth defeat for Roger against the Serbian in their 22nd match - our champ has lost all their three encounters so far this year.

Later on, Roger and Stanislas Wawrinka were also not able to celebrate a victory as they lost the final against Alexandr Dolgopolov and Xavier Malisse 4-6, 7-6(5) and 7-10.

Why would Novak be envious of the friendship between "Roger and Federer"? (sic) It's obvious that Novak and Rafa are better friends!

The man can not hide his his ugly envy of Roger..his memory span is very short he won 3 matches and he forget the history ..he may win No 1 And many GS but he will never win the hearts cos he can't show respect for real heros just compare betwen him and Nadal's respect to Roger he recently described Roger as one of the greatest (or maybe best) players while considering Nadal The GOAT what an ugly attitude i felt he envy the great relation betwen Roger and Federer and try to hurt it ...the man is

Roger has admitted that he needs to work to add more power and aggression to his style to complement his beautiful and successful game.Power and beauty are
not incompatible .
Roger's fitness and his genius for movement will keep him on top
Yes ! Djoko and co are here to stay, at least for a while, but Roger's genial skills, his intelligence, his dedication and his hard work will award him more victories. That's my fervent hope and that of his many fans.

Why do you disagree ?

I hope you're wrong...I just finished reading 2 interesting articles in Tennis.com
an interview with Cliff Drysdale who is well respected in the tennis world, another
with Pat Cash. I suggest you read them. Drysdale is very clear that Roger 'genius and "economy of strokes'etc... will allow him to play at least another 5 years or more...he still thinks that Roger "is the best player I've ever seen..."Roger has
recognized that he needs to work on his game when he hired PA.

Disaster of no disaster for the world the best two players in the world
are Nadal and Djokovic.
So Federer is not anymore on the front page so hope this will give him some
rest and time to think things over.
