Quick start in Miami

26.03.2011 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger made an great start into the Miami Masters today, defeating Radek Stepanek 6-3, 6-3.

Roger scored early breaks in both sets, adding a third one in total to clearly dominate the match. His first serve was a strong weapon as he reached 70% of first serves.
With the victory - Roger's 762nd - he joins Pete Sampras on place number 7 in the ATP records. But our champ is still 480 victories short of Jimmy Connors' who leads the ranking.!

Roger will meet Juan Monaco in round three in Key Biscayne. He leads the head-to-head 1-0 against the Argentinian so far.

We fans understand you Roger, don't criticize like those fools out there, who are good at nothing else than that. We back you not just in good times but also in bad times. Did not Nadal have a bad time? Or for that matter, Djokovic, Murray, Soderling? In other words, you must be happy because, these critics are not concerned whatever might happen to them ( Rafa, Novak, Andy & Robin), they just don't give a damn to them. But, they voice their concern for you. God bless u Roger! Go, win title.

Bravo, Roger! It is exciting and a great pleasure to see you play, and then on top of it, to win. You did it smoothly, smartly, quickly, your weapons, strategy and power evident, and all without a great deal of labour, or yelling or screaming. More of the same, or similar, or any which way! No doubt in my mind that you are the greatest player, with the greatest arsenal and genius, and most suited for the game. And the heart your have! Luck, always, and Godspeed!

Good to see those stats, Roger. Go! taste blood, give it your best shot, settle for nothing less than a win, no matter who the opponent is, stay aggressive, work out on your basics, always put the ball in the court, make others fumble & commit mistakes, u capitalize on those, have a definitive game plan, take not your eye off the ball, believe in yourself, in less than a week you'll find yourself holding the Miami title & silencing your critics with mud in their mouths. Good luck!!
