Roger advances

28.03.2011 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger has reached round four at the Miami Masters, battling down Juan Monaco 7-6(4), 6-4 today.

"I am happy with my game and things are going well," Roger commented. "I've played a lot more games than this time last year. I am confident going on court, preparing well and am happy with how things are going."

The Argentinian made Roger's life everything but easy. But our champ kept in the contest before making his move in the moments that counted.
The first set brought a break on either side, with Roger eventually showing the greater quality in the tiebreak to edge ahead. Both players continued fighting tough with Roger finally scoring the first break at 4-4 and finally pulling out a stunning drop shot to wrap up the match after a tough 104 minutes.

Roger will now play Olivier Rochus (ATP 89) whom he has beaten every time in seven matches so far.

Dear Roger
Congratulations!! It was a very tough match! Thank God you won, I knew it would have happened, but your opponent was really good one! I remember him playing well, but yesterday he did his best (after the break he made!!). Anyhow, your next opponent is a tricky one. They all try their best playing the great Roger!!! I pray dear God for you to be healthy and focused! The next match won't be easy, as well!
Wish you all the best and good luck dearest Roger!
Go, Roger, goooo!
Love Mimi

Congratulations Roger!!! Sounds like a bit of a tough one, from the comments made etc, but that is'nt so bad at this stage of the tournament, gives you some match hardiness. Take care and Keep well. Keep on Keeping on-look forward to a clash with Rafa. GO GET HIM ROG.

Hello Roger
Congratulatioins on your win against a very good & determined Monaco on an extremely hot & humid day.
We enjoyed watching some wonderful rallies & shots even a Federer magie from Juan i.e. a backhand smash in the 6th game 1st set.
However, there is no-one like our RF who has so many varied and magiacl shots--your netplay was always good now better.
Wishing you all of the very best for your next match against Rochus
Kindest regards
Margaret
