And now against Rafa!

31.03.2011 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger had to play just three today to book his spot in the semis of the Miami Masters as Gilles Simon had to retire at 3-0.

After 10 minutes and three games of play - Roger won 12 of 15 points - Simon called the physiotherapist as he claimed to have woken up with a stiff neck. He then realised there was no use in resuming play and shook Roger's hand.

Roger's last few days in Miami have not really been tough and he should be able to attack the round of the last four with plenty of energy. His opponent there is Rafael Nadal, it is the 23rd encounter between the two stars!

You once killed Rafa in tennis all the time. I wish you still did.

when you play agaist rafa i see the brain playing against the muscles. i see you give great angle shots and difficult shots but rafa is fit enough to be able to get them back in court . thats what i see when you play against novak. they keep playing defensive to make you do mistakes. and you are trying to be aggressive to stop them from returning it back.
my advice is to be more patient with your shots and dont try to hit winners. and work on your fitness more. lets see you do it champ.

Hated to see you so easily defeated. It proves that you are human after all. Put it behind you. The better player won last night; the better man did not. Come back soon.

Sad to see you lose but it wasn't your night. Plenty more tennis to play the rest of the season and many more years to come.
Loads of Love

Bad luck Rog, not your night. Don't forget that Roger has beaten Rafa in like manner before. Rafa is a nice guy and they are good friends; he played a great match and far from being smug he's just telling it how it is. I totally agree with CJM - win or lose, there is NO ONE to match our champ for grace, elegance and class. I shall stop watching when the likes of Djokovitch, Del Potro etc. take over, boom bang indeed. Have a good break with your family.'Til the next time, love you always...

Forget the Critics. You are still a force to be reckoned with. You will have your day...again! From what I saw you were not playing badly and your first service was good. You are still beautiful to watch, so elegant. That is how tennis should be played. Not boom bang a bang like how the others play. When that is all that is left, once again, I will stop watching tennis until the next Becker or Federer comes along!
