A clear loss against Rafa

02.04.2011 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger suffered a clear 3-6, 2-6 loss against Rafael Nadal in the semi-final of the Sony Ericsson Open in Key Biscayne.

"It just got worse and worse. And when I had a chance I simply played too weak. Today was nothing to write about, I'm afraid," Roger commented. "I know that I can do many more things in the game. I'm very excited by what's to come still."

It was no easy task playing against a very strong Nadal as the Spaniard never dropped his serve and converted four of five break-point chances, committing only 10 unforced errors. Roger counted a total of 31 unforced errors and shanked several shots.

Next on Roger's schedule is the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters which starts in a week and opens the clay-season for Roger.

Roger's biggest asset? His bad memory!

His mind always seems to be in peace and well balanced. You can tell from the photos that he has moved on from recent painful losses in Australian Open, Dubai, Indian Wells, and Miami and is already excited and looking forward to the Clay season.

Go Roger!

I'm really hoping for a 2009 scenario! He bounced back so amazingly hard at the time. We know that you can do it, just believe in yourself. Your not playing less good than in 2010 or 2009, as a matter a fact, this year you only lost from a djokovic in top form and nadal during a off day. Nothing to shame about.you're play more constant than last year.

Go for it Roger, you have much more in you than some people think.
It's far from over!

Best luck at Monte-Carlo, you can do it for sure!!

I'm sorry **wildthing** but in my view Roger will still be the greatest even in the unlikely (but possible) event that Nadal surpasses 16 major titles. Why? Because this is not just about nerdy nunbers, but about the game and Roger has a more complete, netural and rounded game. Nadal has a particularly j'manufactured' game whereas Roger is the most creative tennis player ever. so there!

Guys, Roger already admitted that last game with Nadal was a clear loss. He is a human being. Let's not blame him. We used to see him all the time before.Mabe we see that it was unusal for him to lose consecutively without a trophy. We live in present and future but not in the past.

Looking in the Long run, Nadal and the joker will not surpass Roger because their game is so physical. Why is the joker has a tape on his right knee all the time? Is that an injury"" If it is, he won't survive like Roger. Nadal is starting dipping now. 5 double fault on his serve in Championship. Comparing the personality, Nadal is better than the joker.

dear roger
1-attack not deffence(always attack u must lead the match)
2-make 2nd serve as 1st serve even if u make double fault because the 2nd serve is disaster.
thanks

Hi Roger, do no let the media talk affect you. They are very unfair with you. They should show more respect to you. I enjoy to watch you playing, you have the genius touch that makes playing tennis look beautiful. Nobody else can do that. One bad performance can happen to anyone. I am sure you will make the proper adjustments to your game and will win big again in the near future.
Take care
