Madrid: the draw

02.05.2011 | Tennis

This week, Roger is playing the 1000-Masters in Madrid. He is in the same half of the draw as Rafael Nadal, winner of his last 34 matches on clay.

Roger, the number 3 seed, could meet Robin Söderling (ATP 5) in a possible quarter-final. Both players were the last to beat Rafael Nadal on clay - Söderling at Roland Garros in 2009 and our champ in Madrid two years ago.

As the winner of the tournament in 2006 and 2009, Roger has a bye into the second round, where he will either face Milos Raonic (ATP 27) or Feliciano Lopez (ATP 37). In the third round a duel with Spain's Fernando Verdasco (ATP 15) could be possible.

Dear Rogerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrroar !
The Lion roars again, that's more like RRRRRRRRRRRogerrrrrr FEDERER playing Tennis. Winning is your way of playing tennis. Today you made us fans feels proud. Lopez almost brought you to the final test and you passed it this time although the match could go either way. I do believe that you are a true champion. A champion who can withstand any conditions and with the right spirit and right decision, you can do miracles ! Hooray, I wish you all the best !

Dear Roger
Congratulations! You did it, finally! Very strenuous match, but you did it! Thank God. I hope this has been the most difficult match for you, because it's the start of the tournament! And you haven't played for a long time, this match and opponent was not easy! Thank you for making me sooooooooo happy! Yes my nerves are a bit broken, but it doesn't matter! Only what matters is your win!

Congratulations Roger. It sounds like it was a difficult match, DOWN TO THE WIRE, but HEY you are through and this has given you heavy practice to take with you to the next Rounds. In an earlier post it was suggested you had changed your racket, it will be difficult to adjust to that, however, will get better with each match you play.
GOOD LUCK IN THE NEXT ROUND
GO ROGER GO
KEEP ON KEEPING ON.
ALL THE BEST xx
