Roger defeated in semis

Roger had to accept another defeat against Rafael Nadal today. He lost the semi-final in Madrid 7-5, 1-6, 3-6.

Roger was in trouble in the very first phase of the match, falling behind 0-2. But our champ then started mixing things up and gradually upped his level to break back in the eighth game. He did get into trouble once more as he trailed 0-40 at 5-5, but a series of attacks and first serves saved him just in the right moment. After several fantastic returns on Nadal's serve, Roger secured another break and finally the opening set. Roger saw plenty of break-chances in the second set. But failing to make use of any of them, Nadal easily leveled the match to 1-1. The third set offered plenty of opportunities for Roger to take the lead or come back onto the board - but unfortunately he was not able to take it all the way.

Roger will play the tournament in Rome next week, before the start of the French Open - the second Grand Slam of the season.

Can't believe some of the comments telling you how to be better or how to get back to number one! If Rafa & Novak are hitting their unbeatable prime (like you did), there's no use killing yourself to get back to that no.1 spot.
I now just enjoy watching your tennis, win or lose. Those great crosscourt backhands pull Rafa out so much: only his athleticism and lefty shots can get it back. Must be great to know that you can turn it on anytime, especially that first set win. Good luck in Rome!

Roger, you can do this, you know you can. I noticed that you were a bit shaky against Rafael in the beginning. Don't be. You don't have to prove anything. You've done it all. You ARE the best tennis player of all time, everyone knows that. Just play your game whenever you come up against a good player like nadal or djoko. You are a very good aggressive player and you have to be against these players. Do what you do best. Good luck for the tournament in Italy! I know you can do it. Love youu!

Congrats on having a good tournament into semis! This should be your goal this year to keep #3 spot. It is almost impossible to get you back to #1 unless you improve your mental status and get more mature. Get Mirka a portable TV set on the tour next time by watching hawk’s eye to prove who was right and wrong between you and chair umpire. Good luck for the rest of the year.

1-Congratulations for a great tournament my love you reached the semis thing that is excellent and you played great tennis.

Against Rafa you made it difficult for him and played an amazing first set with a great attitude, you are on your way Roger; you must be patient and keep working.

2-You know objectively speaking I've observed Nole and Rafa play and there is nothing they do that you can't, you have a much better game, technique and shots, you are far better on the net points, you are as fit as they are, there are gaps on their games you can totally defeat them.

3-They are really good but Roger you are better, you are the reason these guys had to improve, so you just have to believe in yourself and fight and use your super mental power. You can do it my love! Any day any time! You are the greatest!

Tell Paul and Severin to come up with a plan against these guys, to try things and to do this with anticipation.

4-Have a lot of enthusiasm, mentalize for success, decide to have confidence, the power is within you!

I hope that the pain you were feeling is gone by now it is awful to play with pain; I don't want you to suffer, not for one second.
