Roger relentless at US Open

04.09.2006 | Tennis

Roger reached the last 16 of the US Open on Sunday with a comprehensive 6-3, 6-3, 6-0 win over Vince Spadea of the United States.

Roger hammered 40 winners in his 88 minutes on court and has yet to drop a set at this year's tournament.

"I'm very happy. Not losing a set the first three rounds, that's always awesome," Roger said. "From now on, you try to keep it up. Of course the rounds are getting tougher. "

Next up for Roger will be Marc Gicquel who continued his surprise run with a thrilling five-set win over 21st seed Gaston Gaudio. The little-known Frenchman won 6-0 4-6 4-6 6-1 7-6 (7/3).

Hope you'll win in 3 quick sets against this unknown Frenchie today. The rain delays really make it difficult for you this year to win this slam, but I'm confident you will somehow manage to get the job done!
Roger, the best ever!

What a strange tournement this year's US Open is turning into. Unlike most other years, the constant rain delays have made the even seem very low key. You really need to be focused and remember this is a GRAND SLAM even though it does not f
