Rome: the draw

09.05.2011 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger will play the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in Rome this week.

After a first round bye, he will start his quest against the winner of the match between Marcos Baghdatis (ATP 27) and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (ATP 18).

In the next round, he could meet France's Richard Gasquet (ATP 16), before Thomas Berdych (ATP 7) might be up in a possible quarter-final.

Then, Roger could be in for another match against defending champion Rafael Nadal - the perfect moment for a revenge after the narrow defeat last week in Madrid.

Hey Roger all the best for your first match against Jo tomorrow. Get your first serves in and keep playing your crosscourt backhand that worked well on Saturday. Love to see you win GO ROGER!!

Dear Champ: I wish you best luck with Tsonga. Hit and defeat him as you did with Sonderling in Madrid. You can do it!!! Come on !!!

HAHAHA! You have to admire Roger's optimism. He never gives those reporters a sign of giving up, even when he is not doing that well based on his standards (and he knows it himself, too):

I hope he can beat Tsonga. We will see. Tough one.

Go Roger!

i dont why i have that feeling telling me that you are gonna surprise every body by winning Roland garos this year, every body is saying that you are not in a good shape now, but i am sure you will do it.
please focus on the first serve and try to get back that crazy number of aces.
good luck

Listen Roger,
Before you take on Tsonga, just remember. He is a monkey! Can jump n dive for your drop shots, you will have to hit base line shots straight down the line to make Tsonga run out of position. He's a great athlete and picks up first serves easily. You need to focus on aces more and play a strategic game. Good luck ! And before I forget, keep your mind cool & active. Focus on shot making and for God's sake, please reduce those silly unprofessional unforced errors. Think positively!

Anyone surprised that Roger is playing in the prime TV spot tomorrow? Of course not! He's still the player everyone most wants to see including the TV audience... Where are the 2 top seeds? Afternoon! Go Roger, have a nice match with Tsonga, and see you in the next round when I hope TV will let you play earlier.......
