Roger cruises through
23.05.2011 | Tennis, Starseite 1
Roger won his first match in Paris against Feliciano Lopez (ATP 41) 6-3, 6-4, 7-6(3) today.
He almost rountinely defeated Lopez, in contrast to his last match against him in Madrid. He took the first two sets without much sweat, collecting 12 aces throughout the match. After almost 2 hours Roger achieved his ninth victory in nine outings against the left-hander in the tiebreak.
Our champ will play Maxime Teixeira (ATP 181) in the next round. The two players have not met before.

Go Go Go Roger !!!
As Joke [Dutchlady] stated that the advantage of GS is that we see you play 3 sets per match, could not agree more.
We enjoyed the whole match, 2 single B/H playing some exceptional shots--2nd point 9th game 3rd set outstanding shots from both both of you.
Wishing you all of the very best for 2nd match this evening.
Kindest regards
Margaret
The great Rod Laver once commented and I quote "that tennis is played from the wrist" If my memory serves me correctly, it was the opening line in his book.
No one does the above better than RF--a comment that I have made many times during your career.
Thank you and congratulations on winning your 1st round match.
Your skill and versatility on the tennis court NEVER ceases to amaze me - really you are not 1 genius but 2!!

Yes, I read your post and I'm not contradicting it. I'm complementing that. I'm just expressing the things Djoker is accomplishing which is tough (not impossible) for our Champ on slower courts against Nadal. Again Fed can very well take care of business in the second half of season (grass + faster HC), especially at this point of his career. Fed can get to his No 1 ranking anytime within the next 1 year. With his playing style, he can continue like this for the next couple of years.
