Roger books spot in semis

Roger has made it through to the semis of the French Open today thanks to a solid 6-4, 6-3, 7-6(3) victory against France's Gaël Monfils. He will now play Novak Djokovic on Friday.

 

Roger started slowly today and fell a break behind on his second serve. But it did not take him long to take control and score two breaks himself to secure the first set. The two players exchanged breaks again at the start of the second set and it was finally Roger who took the set thanks to another break. Monfils dug deep in the third set, but our champ raised his game in the tie-break to comfortably seal the victory.

Roger is now in for another match against Novak Djokovic whose stakes are high - he has won his last 41 singles and is just one victory short of the record of the best start into the season of all times.

NOT MOI, Lux_Lady, I've been Roger's umpteenth fan for the umpteenth time...

For as long as I've been a Tennis fan, I think ROGER has spoiled me many times over as his adoring fan, and chances are that I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO WATCH ANYMORE MEN'S TENNIS, ONCE HE DOES RETIRE...I'll watch women's tennis instead 'cuz there's GREAT DEPTH to the womens' fields right now~!!

Congratulations on an incredible performance! Way to go Roger! I am pretty sure you will beat Nadal in the final! Good luck! Winning the Coupe Des Mousquetaires for the second time in two years, getting the better of Nadal will be the crowning achievement in your storied career, I am sure!

Rogi, well done. Congratulations. Thank you for such a superb match, thank you even more for beating the Djoker, we knew you were the one who could do it and thank you very, very much for winning! No words can say what I feel, this is so wonderful. Have a good rest ready for Sunday. Win or lose on Sunday, I think it will be todays match which will be remembered. Winning RG would be icing on the cake though! Many celebratory hugs and kisses from me! Superb!

Lucaya. Yes could'nt believe the game was still going when i woke up. I didnt intend to actually get up this early, but once i was awake, just had to check what had happened. I could'nt believe it was still going and the score then, so estatic! so unbelievable.Both players had amuch pressure (realistically)-Djoker to break a record, Roger to stop it. At the end of the day, Roger is always the best.
