French Open Final!

Roger showed a brilliant display in the semi-final of the French Open today, ending Novak Djokovic's winning run with a 7-6,(5), 6-3, 3-6, 7-6(5) victory and setting up a meeting with Rafael Nadal in the final.

"I've trained a lot during my whole life for these kinds of matches," Roger said. "There was an enormous amount of pressure on Novak and he really played well."

Roger had an answer to just about everything Djokovic showed on court today, even though cumulating 46 unforced errors on the way, five more than his opponent. After taking the first set in a tiebreaker, Roger managed an early break in the second and brought home the set smoothly. Djokovic came back in the third set as Roger also committed too many errors. Just like the opening set, the fourth was a tough fight with breaks on both sides, ending in a tiebreaker. That proved another immensely tight fight, but Roger eventually rode home the victory with his 18th ace.

Our champ will now face Rafael Nadal on Sunday in the final of the 2011 French Open in what promises to be another classic duel between the two players. It is the fourth time in six years that the two meet in the Paris final.

Hard fought match, dear Roger. You came back brilliantly to take the third, and how the crowd loved you! Unforced errors crept up too much, and there weren't too many occasions when you could create opportunities for yourdelf. When you did, you were magnificent.
I agree that Roland Garros should use hawk eye. So many points were too close to call and you lost out, This is not to discredit Nadal, who played very well, but I hope you can recover quickly from this loss. Good luck in Halle! xxx

I want Federer to be in the same draw as Nadal, so that he can win Nadal in the semis!!! Federer has to face Nadal and beat him in the grass!!!

I am happy.Roger could hav won the first set,thts true,but still Rafa would hav won the match.In 4th set i think,Roger was out of gas due to his 3.40hr match against Djoker which was extermely strenuous.His serve was at a much reduced speed 2day thn against Djoker.Cant complain.He played this tournament at the level he play in 05-07.Havnt seen him play this well evn at 2008 wimby.So
if this goes on ,he can win every other tournament until Paris provided God gives himthe strength and concntration

Well, you'll win in the next time. Anyway, Nadal didn't deserve to win, Roger played better during all the tournament. Keep going, CHAMP, you're the greatest forever.

ALADWANI. Part I - For sure Federer played a more aggressive game today at times (1st set, 3rd set saw numerous attacking play and net play), but he was only allowed to by Nadal playing the ball short and giving him the opportunity. We can all ponder about that dropshot on set point but to beat Rafa, you have be aggressive when you can and from the baseline. He will not always drop the ball short for attacking net play. The 2nd set tie break was disappointing.

This macht is worth than that djoker! Tecnicnaly is whorth! You have all the chances, but YOUR MIND, YOUR MIND,,, LET YOU DOWN!!!
The key point is nadal's backhand.... and you try his forehand!!! Wrong... you must atack his back, not his forehand!
You bild Nadal, you made his glorius!!! 4 times vice!!! This is bad!
But, your playning well and need more confidence against Nadal!!!
