Roger defeated in final
Roger was defeated 5-7, 6-7, 7-5 and 1-6 by Rafael Nadal in the final of the French Open today.
"It was an exceptional performance by Rafa. He's beaten me again. I'm sad but I am happy to play him," Roger said. "He is the best player on clay but I am proud of the way I have played over the last two weeks but I couldn't do enough against him. It was important to get into another grand slam final."
Roger started strong, breaking Nadal in the second game and taking a 5-2 lead. But it was just when Roger was serving for the set that Nadal found his rhythm and won the following five games to take the first set. The Spaniard continued to play almost without errors into the second set, but Roger managed to hold onto his service games and then break to level 4-4 - only to be broken again in return. Play was suspended for a few minutes due to rain - with Roger coming back onto the court to break Nadal and bring the set into a tie-break - which Roger unfortunately clearly lost.
Roger seemed to change his game in the third set and was at his best at 5-5 to go on and book the set onto his account. He continued well into the fourth set and had several break-points, but it was Nadal who made use of the chances he was given and left no doubt that he wanted the match to come to an end.
Roger will now open the grass court season this week at the tournament in Halle (GER).

i love Roger just as you do. But you're right. It hurts becauze we felt he could win the final. He needs to convert this mental issue to a mental advantage. Instead of being afraid of losing to nadal, he needs to realise the time has come to beat Nadal and show who's the best. Losing is not an oppurtunity. You must win wimbledon Roger! And if you don't, it's not gonna be the end of the world, nor of your career. But you must fight as if you're the only righteous winner! You can do it!
nadal,murray,djoko,delpo,soderling
don,t be disappointed
welbledon is just around corner you will be a champ this time
from your huge fan
I cannot understand why you lost the momentum, you were comanding on court, perhaps still difficult to keep focus and nerves out.
Why let history repeat again if you have all to do writte a different and greater of your 16 Majors?
However I am happy you still our there tryng
Go Roger
Best for all

Nadal in front of Djoke was very weak and he started against Federer the same but federer was soooooooooooo generous and I fed up from this generosity
I see that federer easily could dominate Nadal but there something Psychologically has to be adjusted
Have u go through what ruansfederer written clearly?u said>"i didn't agree with it
coz u can't make federer's GOAT status depend on 1 tournament loss,it's not
logically" and thats what ruans also said as this>"Some people are of the opinion
that Roger’s latest loss detracts from his GOAT status.I don’t agree. I don’t see
how losing to a clay court specialist on clay can detract from Roger’s GOAT status, given that it’s his worst surface".i dont s
i read what was written in ruansfedererblog and actually i didn't agree with it coz u can't make federer's GOAT status depend on 1 tournament loss,it's not logically, coz like u said he is 29 and what he's doing now is extraordinary,i mean reaching to almost all finals, win some, keep surprises us with this amazing play, making people speechless 4 so many years..we can't come now&judge him like that&throw all his wonderful career in rubbish coz of 1 tournament or other,it's totally unfair
