Next up: Tsonga in quarters

27.06.2011 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger had to drop a set against Mikhail Youzhni today before eventually celebrated a strong 6-7(5), 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 victory.

Both players served well in the opening set, taking it into a tie-breaker. Roger jumped to a 4-1 lead - only to just enter a short sloppy phase and eventually drop the set by losing the tie-break 5-7.
He found his rhythm better and better, managing to break Youzhni twice in the second set. He then continued dictating the game and finally sealed the victory to reach his 29th consecutive grand slam quarter-final!

Roger will now play Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (ATP 19) of France on Wednesday.

@CRYSTAL_PUI:
No, I said that because every time we give an excuse and say "The next GRAND SALM IS ON THE WAY". after ROLAND GARROS, we said "WIMBLEDON IS COMING !!" AND now wimbley is over. AND another thing be realistic and don't say that there is a chance in ths US open, u will see!!! Roger even will not defend cincinnati this year !!

Cheater, but winner. Collecting grand slams. Who cares after 10 or 20 years.

@"Aladwani"
Nadal is not a complete player yet, all he has done is just capitalizing on Federer's psychological weakness, that said Nadal is a complete cheat good at faking injuries only to be disproved by scans

@The_best_Abood
The US Open is coming, he still got time to improve his mistakes
Anyway, even though he lost every important matches, so what??
Is that the reason for you to say that he should retire just because he did not perform well this year and upset you??

Yes Indeed but Nadal is not only playing good in Paris and its not only about serving. Its an overall game and Nadal is a complete player. That's why he is winning consistently.
