Roger stunned by Tsonga

Roger was upset by Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the quarterfinals in Wimbledon today: 6-3, 7-6(3), 4-6, 4-6, 4-6.

“I think my game was plenty good enough this year to win the tournament, but unfortunately there’s only one who can win it, and the rest go home empty-handed,” Roger said. “That’s what happened to me today, but Jo played an amazing match.”

Roger started well, converting a break point in Tsonga's first service game and held the lead to take the set. He held in the second which he finally won in the tie-break.
But Tsonga broke our champ in the third set and went on to do so in sets four and five - to eventually end Roger's quest for a seventh Wimbledon crown.

Hi Dear GAYALBATROSS: I don't think Roger loses concentration because of the attention given to his appearance. Roger has a team working with him and for him. It is the team who decides all that I am sure Roger has the final say, but if you think our Roger loses because he gives more attention to the bag, etc. then you don't think much of him as a professional tennis player, eh?

Furthermore, when Rog dropped to No2 and they said he was finished, I & other Strong Fans said he would get back to No1.

Hey Champ, now the American HC season is arriving, stay healthy mentally and physically. The faster HC is your strength. Just one thing you have to work on is wiping that Nadal-factor from your mind. No one fears him these days. I agree his style is a bad match-up for you but on faster surfaces, it should be piece-of-cake for you. Rest well and practice hard for the next big events.

Thank you - When Rog was down & down some more in the 'bad old days' at 14 GSs and some people were saying he was finished, I & other Strong Fans said Rog would go beyond Sampras' 15GSs.

Well! We were right - Rog now has 16 GSs!

I''ve also put on record the following and I'll do it again now:

1. Rog will win at least 4 more GSs.
2. Rog will regain the No.1 spot.
3. Rog will win the 2012 Olympic Singles Gold

So if what you're saying is factually accurate, and if assuming the Pace of The Ball in 1999 was at Level 1, and the Pace of The Ball today is at Level 5, then let them do the right thing and:

Otherwise , there'ld be 2 Clay Court Grand Slams per year.

You made history, you have the best style ever, you're the most talented player the game has ever seen, you're 29 and still capable of showing us great tennis although the game has changed a lot, you're definitely the best tennis player of all times.
Please don't retire Roger as i started to watch tennis because of you and still watching because of you. I just feel delighted when i see you on court.

Why ironically ? I think winning 2 different GS back to back 5 CONSECUTIVE times is itself a HUGE achievement. U r always comparing RF to RN. Let RN win one GS, his favorite GS, the FO, 5 CONSECUTIVE times......"ironically" he will NEVER b able to do that.

Agree with SHIV08SPYDER. I'm afraid Federer has developed the mindset of thinking "if i lose to Nadal, it's just another loss." And it is this mindset that has prevented him from achieving more. In my view Federer is underachieved, considering his gift. When it comes to critical moment when he is about to make history, such as the 2008 fiasco at French Open, then it was culminated at the 2008 Wimbledon. Nadal is not unbeatable for RF, only his mindset makes his fixated to it and do NO changes.
