Roger stunned by Tsonga
29.06.2011 | Tennis, Starseite 1
Roger was upset by Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the quarterfinals in Wimbledon today: 6-3, 7-6(3), 4-6, 4-6, 4-6.
“I think my game was plenty good enough this year to win the tournament, but unfortunately there’s only one who can win it, and the rest go home empty-handed,” Roger said. “That’s what happened to me today, but Jo played an amazing match.”
Roger started well, converting a break point in Tsonga's first service game and held the lead to take the set. He held in the second which he finally won in the tie-break.
But Tsonga broke our champ in the third set and went on to do so in sets four and five - to eventually end Roger's quest for a seventh Wimbledon crown.

You said, "" So until someone surpasses 16 GS titles, RF is (still) GOAT! ""
Actually someone WILL surpass 16 GS Titles BUT Rog will still be GOAT, because....wait for it ! ...... the person surpassing 16 GS Titles will be none other than Roger himself, getting 17th and 18th and so on...!
Yeh , writefan, I know you're a true fan. I'm just teasing you - keep on your good work of supporting & believing in Rog!
Aza Aza Fighting!

Perhaps I notice more things than I'm supposed to. But RF has pay so much more attention to superficial things such as dressing, bags, etc. When I watched him at U.S open last year, I started to think, how heavy that bag would be? How distractive that number would be? We are talking about concentration, so if RF doesn't pay attention to those things that much, perhaps it would help.
Roger's site is meant for news related to Roger, his events and a platform for his fans to share their views. It doesn't need to display anything about other players. We have many other sites to do that. Roger praised Djoko in front of media, that's good enough to show his intentions. And most of the Roger's fans (including me) appreciated Djoko for his incredible performance. What more than that is expected? Nothing. I can read about other players on ATP site and other sites.
We all wish Roger the best for the rest of his tennis career. Please forgive us if we criticized him during the last few weeks. Maybe some moments of anger showed dejection from some of his fans but this doesn't mean we will not support him. Anyways, Wimbledon is over and we will be supporting him in his upcoming tournaments. But thank you for your message. Let's all stay positive as YUKIMI suggested. Roger has given us so much and its time for us to give him the reward.
Your positive interpretation of Rog's acheivements in that post is excellent - your spirit too, is inspiring.
I hope all readers will see that we Fans must aupport Roger to give his morale a firm base on which to make necessary changes and from which to launch his Campaign to regain No. 1 Spot.
Others are also voicing serious and fair concerns, so it would be best if WE ALL STAYED POSITIVE :-)
