Tsonga up next

10.08.2011 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger defeated a determined Vasek Pospisil (ATP 155) of Canada in his first match at the Rogers Cup 7-5, 6-3 today.

Roger had to work quite a bit for the win, especially in the first set as it took some time for him to find his rhythm. He snatched the first set on the last occasion with the first break-balls given as Pospisil was serving to get into the tie-breaker. Roger was more at ease after that, jumping to a 3-0 lead in the second set and then easing through his service games to wrap up the victory.

Roger will now meet Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France - his chance to avenge the Wimbledon quarter-final defeat, when Tsonga came back from two sets down to defeat our champ.

Hey Champ, tough match, huh! Anyway I hope you got some practice. Ahead lies your favorite tournaments Cincy & USO. Work harder and try to win those two. Stay focused.

sorry roger ,but why you always can't come back when u are under the score and accept the defeat before the end of the match ?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And you are hitting the ball very high , in the middle of the court and also without speed ???!!!!! Good luck roger but that's a very bad sign . sorry . I never wanted to right like that ,but we are in a choke .

IT IS A PITTY, YOU DESERVED TO LOSE. IT IS TRUE.}YOU DIDN´T PLAY WITH AUTHORITY.
YOU DIDN´T ENJOIED ANY GAME , HOWEVER YOU WERE CONCENTRATED, YOUR LEGS WERE SO GOOD.
WHAT HAPPENED?
1- HE PLAYED OUSTANDING
2- YOU DIDN´T PLAY GOOD THE TIE BREAK,THEN ....
3- IN THE 3 SET YOU LOSE YOUR INSPIRATION
I DESERVE YOU ALL THE BEST FOR THE NEXT TOURNAMENTS

Dear Roger,
Altough i am waiting for every tournment to see you with new hopes but I cannot withstand that kind of loss and I think it is better for you to retire now and keep DOHA

Seeing him play it feels like he is playing with a toy racket made of cheap plastic. It would have been great if I were actually blaming his racket.

Never mind... I know the result now. Well, I didn't see the match...but by the comments here and the score, I guess Roger didn't really want to win. On to the next tournament... Go Roger Go! Never mind the negativity, I suppose by now you're used to it, and KNOW that at the end WE, YOUR FANS, LOVE YOU ANYWAY!
