Roger out against Tsonga

12.08.2011 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger lost his second match within a month to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, ending his quest for the Montreal Masters title after a 6-7(3), 6-4, 1-6.

Roger was a further top seed after Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray to exit the event. “I played two matches, I feel good physically,” he said. “Jo played an excellent third set. The first two sets were tighter. I should maybe have won the first one, I had some opportunities."

Well, how disappointing is that: TennisTV having 'technical difficulties' and as soon as they got us our match back on screen Tsonga having to retire against Novak with an injury...

**Hugsie** (Margaret) and **Wompie** (Amelia) good to read your posts again. And I agree with Wompie: I wouldn't mind to see all these fake fans (who are so disappointed in Roger and posting here in the rudest of ways) leave this site forever. Good riddens indeed ;-).

Roger
I omitted to mention that we thoroughly enjoyed the match[the 1st 2 sets] between yourself & Jo Wilfred--some wonderful shots from both players.OK you had your chances to win certain points-but isn't that tennis? I know for myself some days I do not miss too much, another day a lot that I should not do so.Character building!!
After all, no matter who or what, we are all human beings NOT machines or robots.
Regards and wishing you the very best for next tournament

I like his style of play certainly in preference to many of the top players.
Frankly the level of tennis at Monteal has not been exciting from any player so do not worry.
I reinforce Margaret [hughsie] comments in her usual good post, Cadel Evans story is amazing AND so is Roger Federer.
To those who are disappointed, not watching RF anymore etc, good bye.You will not be missed .
Myself and family, join Margaret's chronic fan club with belief and support at ALL times.
Regards
Amelia

Roger
Firstly a belated happy birthday--personally I think the years 30>40 are some of the best. No doubt you will enjoy them.

It appears that you were able are to relax and practice during your break. This IMO is a very good thing--much more to life than winning a game of tennis ESPECIALLY when you personally have achieved so much.
Therefore not surprised that perhaps you were a little rusty and meeting Jo-Wilfred in 3rd rnd who had already played 1-2 matches was not going to be easy

In my opinion this year the only match you played with motivation was the french open semi-final

Dear Rog! I'm so sad about this. I can't understand what happened, Tsonga played better, you say? Forgive me, but, in mi opinion, you allowed him to "play" better. How did he get so easily and quickly the 3rd set? It's quite dissapointing to see not a bit of fight. Rog, with all respect that you quite deserve, do you still feel like playing tennis? Because, if not, everything's fine you will be always the best, I love you for ever, Beatriz Milano
