Roger out against Tsonga

12.08.2011 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger lost his second match within a month to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, ending his quest for the Montreal Masters title after a 6-7(3), 6-4, 1-6.

Roger was a further top seed after Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray to exit the event. “I played two matches, I feel good physically,” he said. “Jo played an excellent third set. The first two sets were tighter. I should maybe have won the first one, I had some opportunities."

I know it's hard. This is the third time that Tsonga beats you. But, mate your tennis was fabulous. I saw some shots that you didn't use for so long, like the drop shot. Roger, I didn't regret having remaining awake until the dawn just to see you play. Contrariwise, I enjoyed myself a lot that night. I think that was the funniest night of my life. You played divinely. And I know you will do the same to the Cincinnati Masters. A big kiss for you, champion. :)

I'm really sorry for your lose against Tsonga Roger. However, I think we must consider the good points. Roger was serving well, theback-hand was flawless, his fore-hand was firing and his movement was good too. So, he is in good shape and hopefully will improve even more and go on to win Cincinati and most importantly, the US open. That's what's important, The US open.
