Roger cruises through
Roger defeated Marin Cilic 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 in the third round of the US Open today.
"The first and second set could've gone either way," Roger said after the match. "He was dominating more of the baseline rallies. I didn't think I was serving particularly well during that period. I knew I had work to do on my serve. I think the wind was tricky. It took some adjustments but I took the right ones and thought it was a very high-quality match."
Roger started well, only encountering a major problem at the end of the second set as he got broken in the last game off a big Cilic forehand that Roger couldn't get back.
With Cilic facing a break point while serving at 4-4 in the third set, he was warned by the chair umpire for a time violation. Cilic immediately double-faulted, giving Roger a 5-4 lead. In the fourth set Roger used his first match ball to win the match after 2:40 hours.
Our champ will now play Juan Monaco (ATP 36) in the next round.

I know He wil be able to win at least another 2 GS. What is your opinion?
Best For All
Pollerer
You played great against Marin and I'm sure you will bring your top game against Monaco.
Good luck!! And have fun.
Good luck for the tonight's match! I'm looking forward to watching your great play.
All the best,
Kei
You are the champ...May God bless you <3
Hard to say (based on this match) where you are standing.. i know only this:
solid backhand (nice)
difficult and windy conditions (weird ball bounces and misses)
A not-so-good-second-set (stupid errors)
back problems? (i've seen you touch your back couple of times)
maybe not the best day? (if so you still came trough -> so that's nice!)
the lenght in some returns and in some shots was not really good.
too passive on some shots. (vs top10s not enough)
