Roger flies into quarters

Roger has reached the quarter finals at the US Open thanks to a brilliant 6-1, 6-2, 6-0 victory over Argentina's Juan Monaco. The match began just before midnight but ended before an approaching storm drenched Flushing Meadows. Once he finally started playing, Roger didn't take long to win. He needed only 82 minutes, including 14 aces to win the match at 1:15 a.m. on Tuesday. He had 42 winners and 21 unforced errors and never faced a break point.

“Waiting so long, it’s very important to get off to a great start,” Roger said in an interview after the match. “I really tried to play aggressive and it all worked out until the very end. I never had to change my game plan."

Roger also had sympathy for his opponent: "It's tough for Juan. I've been in that position before when I lost badly on this court to Andre Agassi, so I know what it feels like," he added. "Sometimes it's just not your day, but it was mine tonight and it feels great."

Our champ will next face Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in a rematch of their Wimbledon quarter-final, which the Frenchman won.

I am so lucky to have a chance to see you play all these years. I am happy that you are going to enjoy your match against Tsonga tomorrow evening. I know you will be yourself again for I feel it. You are relaxed., you are positive, and you actually enjoy everything. Yes we are going to enjoy along with you Federer san. Now I know more and more how much you mean to my life. For it is not as much fun watching other players play. But watching you play Federer san, makes me happy all day.

I just wanna say that you are playing as only you know how to play. I am so happy cuz I had the chance to see you play and won those matches at the US OPEN and everybody is crazy about you and they, all of that people, wants to see Federer taking the trophy back. Im pretty sure it must be LOVE.

Roger, that was terrific. They showed your match twice for all to enjoy. More than a beauty, I have no word to qualify what i just watched. Keep on the same way with Tsonga, and you'll have it made. That was unreal !!!

everything is good for you, is playing very well, very aggressive, focused and determined. So will have to be against Tsonga, his backhand federer was great ... congratulations Do not hesitate or be shy with it, keep it strong to the end .. god bless
